[borgin and burkes]

Caroline's actually having a pretty nice day at work. Mostly because she's got a bunch of baby valravns with her today. They're at about that stage. Currently, they're all nestled and mostly dozing in a basket-turned-nest behind the counter. Adrastia goes between milling around on the counter and Caroline and watching over the little ones. Apparently it's her day to help babysit.

Suddenly there's a surprising amount of noise outside. Caroline looks up from the basket and peers out the storefront, but she can't see anything. What or whoever is causing a ruckus is outside her line of sight. She glances over at Adrastia. The large valravn is curious but more concerned with watching one of the babies flap halfheartedly in the basket. ...Okay. It's probably okay then. Caroline tenses and draws her wand anyway. There's really no telling.

[at home]

Ahhh, nothing like a nice day off. Caroline shuffles into the kitchen to get breakfast going a little later than usual, but hey. It's Tuesday. She shoos a few valravns out of her way and starts making some French toast. Hopefully Sully will turn up soon so she can ask if he wants anything else with it. She doesn't like getting back up to do more once she's done cooking.

[borgin and burkes]

Another charming day at work. Caroline is getting increasingly tired of this job, to be honest. Though really, it's not like she has any viable alternatives. At least Sully's actually hanging around the store today, so she's got company. Which is good, because she just had to deal with Malfoy again. God, does Caroline hate snobby purebloods.

"Thank god that's over with," she says to Sully once Malfoy is gone.

[london]

Caroline is a bit of a wreck right now, to be honest. She's on her way to Eddie's house. For tea. Which is a date. She's never been on a date before. She does not want to admit to anyone ever how long it took her to decide what to wear or how much she kept fussing with her hair. She finally gave up and called it good, because otherwise she'd still be fussing instead of wandering through London following Eddie's directions. She's paying less attention to her surroundings than she normally would but is still far from oblivious. If she didn't constantly keep an eye out the way she does, she probably wouldn't have lived long past graduation, honestly. Besides, Eddie said there's a trick to finding his flat.

And... there, that should be the right street. She turns down it, and really, it's more of an alley. It's a very obviously muggle area, but there's something about the close, overgrown nature of this little side street that makes Caroline think of wizards. Which is accurate, given that she does know a wizard lives here. Finally she rounds a corner and reaches a building at the end of the alley. This must be it. And Eddie said... yup, there's the stairs around back. Good.

Soon enough she's up the stairs and fidgeting nervously at Eddie's door. Come on, Caroline, just knock. This can't possibly be more awkward than the last time they had tea, right? She smooths out the largely nonexistent wrinkles in her clothing and pats at her hair just enough to know it hasn't gone crazy. Then she takes a deep breath and knocks on the door.

[at home]

Caroline's nervously puttering around the kitchen while she waits for Eddie to show up. She's got a couple potions going. No dinner this time, since Sully's off hunting another artifact of some kind and she therefore has plenty of leftovers. She's gotten a little too used to cooking for more than one. She can't really find anything else to do in the kitchen, but she's already fussed needlessly with just about everything in the sitting room.

She feels pretty ridiculous, honestly. Yeah it's Eddie and yeah she doesn't have guests over... uh, ever (couchwarmer Sully not included), but it's still completely stupid how nervous she is. She just...

She can almost hear Sully laughing, really. Caroline kind of hopes Eddie gets here before she can do anything silly.

[borgin and burkes]

Another day at Borgin and Burkes, and Caroline is bored out of her mind. She hasn't seen Sully in several days, and business has been pretty slow. She's dusted everything she can dust. Ugh. She pokes through another book that's caught her eye, but it's turning out to be a disappointment.

"At this rate, I might go back to freelancing," she grumbles to herself. "At least I wasn't bored back then." Well, she wasn't. But no, she's not actually that bored.

[borgin and burkes]

Caroline's stuck minding the shop again while her employers take a ridiculously long lunch. That's fine, she's happy to see the back of them, as long as none of the difficult customers drop by while they're out. She's already tired of Malfoy, and she's only had one run in with him.

In any case, she's swept as dusted as much as can possibly be done in a place like this, and is now leaning against the counter perusing a book. She's been reading some of the merchandise when it's slow, and this particular book is interesting enough she wishes she could buy the damn thing. Ah well.
